1. How We Research and Write
Every guide and article on NewbornMeals starts from current guidance published by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the CDC, plus peer-reviewed research where relevant (such as the LEAP and EAT studies on early allergen introduction). We cite our primary sources directly in each article rather than relying on secondhand summaries.
2. Who Writes Our Content
Our content is written by a small team of Registered Dietitians (RD), a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (RN, IBCLC), and board-certified pediatricians (MD). Every author's credentials are listed on the article they wrote, alongside a short bio — you can see exactly who wrote what and what qualifies them to write it.
3. Medical Review
Articles written by a Registered Dietitian, RN, or PhD researcher are reviewed by Dr. Sarah Chen, MD, a board-certified pediatrician, before publication, for medical accuracy on claims involving allergies, safety, and developmental readiness. Articles already written by a physician are not separately re-reviewed. You'll see a 'Medically reviewed by' note on every article that received this review.
4. How We Keep Content Current
Feeding guidance changes as new research emerges — the shift on early allergen introduction is a good example. We revisit our guides periodically and update them when guidelines change, noting the publish date on every article so you know how current it is.
5. What We Don't Do
We don't publish unsourced medical claims, and we don't present opinion as clinical guidance. Where evidence is mixed or guidance varies (for example, exact solid-food start dates), we say so rather than picking a single number and presenting it as universal. Nothing on NewbornMeals replaces individualized advice from your own pediatrician — we say this throughout our content because every baby is different.
6. Corrections
If you spot an error or outdated guidance in any of our content, email hello@newbornmeals.com. We take accuracy seriously, especially in a category where the information directly affects an infant's health, and we correct verified errors promptly.
